N2 - Research on the health consequences of armed conflicts is still in its infancy. Systematic medical data collection among emergency department contacts at three hospitals in the occupied West Bank of Palestine showed that patients delayed by the Israeli occupation were more likely to be admitted to hospital than other patients. The occupation of Palestine has resulted in severe restriction to the civil population's freedom of movement that influences access to health care, among a number of other serious problems.
