Inaugural Lecture with Ken Arnold

“A House for the Curious”
One of Europe’s most innovative university museums is on the verge of a bold future: one that knits together a unique mix of research, engagement, culture and social purpose. A house where curious people can feel the past, understand the present and think about the future of health and medicine. In his inaugural lecture, Ken Arnold (Professor of Public Engagement with Health and Medicine) will draw on his international experience of leading and researching museums to set out his vision for Medical Museion’s exciting next chapter.

In it, he will outline:

  • What sort of publicly situated research it will foster.
  • How it will go beyond ‘communicating’ science, encouraging visitors to learn and think more deeply.
  • How it will explore and celebrate inter-connections between medicine and art.
  • How it can contribute to society.

There will be a small reception after the lecture.
