Aktuel forskning
I am Professor of Participatory Health Services Research and Research Group Leader at the Department of Public Health, Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark.
Furthermore, I am the Deputy Director of Center for Healthy Aging, and I hold a Research Collaborator Appointment at the Mayo Clinic, Minnesota.
I am particularly invested in developing models for collaborative and partnership-driven interdisciplinary research, supporting sustainable careers for younger researchers, diversity and inclusion, and enhancing societal impact of aging research.
I teach and supervise students, run internships, supervise and assess PhDs, and mentor younger researchers. I have completed several leadership tracks, including the Women Leaders Programme at INSEAD, and the UCPH Forward: Talent Programme for Excellence in Research.
I head a research group that conducts research into how to ensure person-centered and sustainable healthcare in the context of population aging and inequities in aging trajectories. The research is mission-driven, impact-oriented, interdisciplinary and participatory, spanning across a range of societal partners including patient/interest organizations, public partners (hospitals, municipalities, regions), industry, entrepreneurs and international organizations. Identifying innovative approaches to ensure diversity-sensitive care within sustainable healthcare systems is our key mission.
I have a background in Public Health Sciences, and a PhD in multi-methods Health Services Research from UCPH. In 2013, I was awarded an Honorary Research Fellowship at the Usher Institute of Population Health Sciences and Informatics, University of Edinburgh, and I have been key in the initiation of the academic public health program in Qatar. I am vice chairman of the Board of Directors at the EGV Foundation, on the Board of Directors of the Danish Institute in Damascus, and a member of the Steering Committee of the University Hospitals Center of Health Research.
I am involved in assessment of grant applications and academic work nationally and internationally, e.g. for Horizon Europe, the European Research Council, the Innovative Health Initiative, the European Cooperation in Science and Technology (COST) Programme, the Research Council of Norway, Forte (the Swedish Research Council), Trygfonden, the Research Committee of the Danish Heart Foundation, the Grant Committee of the Danish Cardiovascular Academy, the Scientific Committee of the Danish Cancer Society and the Dutch Research Council.
