We optimise pharmacotherapy and clinical trial designs by characterising pharmacokinetic-pharmacodynamic relationships using mathematical models that identify sources of variability in drug response.
Examples of projects in our group:
•Fixed dose combinations in drug development - Design of Trials for Identifying Optimal Combination Ratios using Advanced Computer Modelling Tools
•Model-based dose finding in clinical drug development
•The development of fixed-dose combinations (FDCs) through improved methodology – regulatory perspective
•Linking rescue medication with pain intensity using PKPD modelling in clinical pain trials
•PK meta-model on morphine and active metabolite based on 22 clinical studies
•PKPD modelling on synergistic effects of gabapentin and morphine
•Modelling on effect of high-dose target-controlled naloxone infusion on pain and hyperalgesia in patients following groin-hernia-repair
•Differences in metabolic activity of CYP enzymes in obese and lean children
